Minimally Invasive Surgery

Micro surgery is reserved for large and extensive varicose veins, usually over 5 mm in diameter. Most patients have incompetence (leaky) valves involving the great saphenous vein or one of its branches. To determine if micro surgery is necessary, several tests may have to be performed such as Venous Doppler, Duplex Ultrasound Imaging, Photoplethysmography, or Light Reflection Photoplethysmography.
When surgery is indicated and the treatment of choice, several micro procedures are available, used separately or in combination:

  EndoLaser Venous System Treatment (ELVeS)
Hook Micro-phlebectomy
PIN Stripping
Transilluminated Powered Phlebectomy (TIPP), TriVex.
Subfacial Endoscopic Perforators Surgery, SEPS
