Our office offers the newest advancement in chemical peels to make you look and feel younger.
Treatments take only a few minutes with minimal discomfort and essentially no down time. You will see improvement in skin discoloration, tone, texture, age spots, mild scars and reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

Typically it is performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and legs. The procedure involves applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of skin. This stimulates new skin growth. The new skin is usually smoother, less wrinkled, more even in color, and temporarily more sensitive to the sun. Chemical peels may produce reddening and peeling similar to sunburn. This typically lasts a few days to several weeks, depending on the strength and depth of the peel.

Chemical peeling may be combined with other products or procedures such as laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, BOTOX, or soft tissue fillers to provide additional benefits to therapy or enhance the effect and achieve cost-effective skin rejuvenation customized to the needs of each individual. Generally, fair skinned and light haired patients are ideal candidates for chemical peels. Darker skin types may also experience good results, depending upon the type of skin problem encountered.

Before
After

There are a variety of chemical peels that differ according to their ingredients and the strength of their peeling properties. Generally, there are three types of peels named according to the depths of their effects as well as the duration of healing time after the procedure. Superficial peel, medium depth peel, and deep peel. The peel depth is determined by the agent, its concentration, the volume applied, time of contact, frequency of application, integrity of the stratum corneum, skin thickness, cleansing, oiliness and post-peel care.

Superficial peels “Lunch Peel”
are the most commonly used. They are intended to merely give the skin a fresh look. While the results of one peel are not usually dramatic, one can achieve excellent benefit with a series of 3-6 peels at 2-4 week intervals especially when combined with a prescribed home care program
Deeper peels remove a significant depth of skin and produce more dramatic effects but require longer period of recovery.

Remember, the deeper the peel, the longer the recovery and better results.

Some popular names for chemical peels include salicylic acid peels, alpha hydroxy acid peels (Glycolic Acid), Trichloacetic acid (TCA), phenol peel, and OBAGI Blue Peel.
